I'm not too familiar with either OPK or Elop. What are the potential pros/cons of this change?

And then think is having ANOTHER American a good idea. Industry experts would argue not perhaps. Given MS can't organise mobile communication devices and their policy and internal politics can't bring anything of worth to market, not sure Nokia are going in the right direction.
I pity the firm and I my signature even more than ever, stands.

I kinda wished tru3 un1x p3ople would have grown up in 5+ years after the charm of a new thing has vanished but no.
there is no Microsoft behind the move. it is all about persons. they consider their options work chores vs salary. People in microsoft aren't working there because they want to enslave every single linux idiot....

Hey folks... let's get this right.
Stephen Elop is CANADIAN...
All of this "American" this and "American" that is utterly wasted because of that prior bit of knowledge. And if anything else, it shows that you think that Nokia is weak enough to bow down to bloggers and so-called popular whims.
I doubt that. But the rest... get it right. Canadian. Like RIM/Blackberry... and maple syrup.

(cut) The OS strategy is as good as set in stone Nokia invested too much in purchasing Qt, Symbian and investing in MeeGo to change that
