I use Modrana. Turn-by-turn navigation from Google, pronounced by espeak. The map can be used offline, but it is in tiles, not vector, so the program knows nothing about streets and cannot make routes offline.

There is also Navit which uses vector maps.

Look around, use search. There are a lot of navigation programs.

hey again,i downloaded somthn calld extra it supposed to have application n i download from it bs i cant find its icon,any idea how to find or use it?

Uhm is there anyway we could use garmin maps for any maemo map applications? We have developed our own streetmap of our country 2 years ago for garmin but there's no garmin now for n900.

Do you mean you added extras-devel repository to Hildon App Manager? Be aware that some programs from it aren't stable.

icetea application is one of the ways. Use search. I don't use Java....

1. Not every program creates an icon in the menu. Some should be launched from command line or are automatically launched at startup.
2. What extra program you downloaded? Name, please.
3. Extras and Extras-devel are repositories, collections of diverse programs, and the latter is more dangerous to use.
