Could you explain this procedure to me clearly please as i am not that much of a user in these types of settings...will i have to use xterminal for this and do i go through root. please

how do i solve this error because i installed maemodder and i tryed the hildon desktop and then after i checked my app manager and this error keeps popping up is there any way i can get rid of this...

"E: invalid record in the preferences file, no package header"

i basically installed maemoder and then i used that multidesktop and tht hildon manager.

Unfortnately the customized hildon-desktop of mohammadAG needs a pin procedure ... ie a procedure that stop the reinstallation of the default packages by the repo ...
But for some strange reasons i don't know why in some n900 the pin procedures has no problems and in others it gives that error...
By the way, maybe i've understood the problem.... tonight i'll release a new version of maemodder with the correct dependencies and with the solution for this bug .. i hope.. :/

Thanks mate..I hope it does sort this problem out then.. and will that sort my appmanager problem too..?

for the problem to your application manager you can use a simple :

rm /etc/apt/preferences

But then you''ll lose the customized hildon and status bar >.<

so how do i do that then if you can help me please...am not that much of a knowledged person of n900's

when i type that (rm /etc/apt/preferences) in x terminal it says this...

rm: cannot remove '/etc/apt/preferences': No such file or diectory
