I can agree that the editing part is not the strongest part of the app. Especially in portrait mode. I have looked into rearranging the layout in portrait and actually thought about introducing the timepicker buttons there.
But I didn't find it worth the time investment, because I hardly use this part of the app.

Now that others mention it might have a further look at the impact of that change.

Version 0.0.3-0 should hit the extras-devel repo soon.

Made the jump to version 3 mainly because of the amount of time it cost me

Changes:
* Different color scheme (green=active orange=pause red=last-finished-alarm). I think it is more logic that the current one.
* Changed some texts in headings and banners
* Recreated the edit item menu (timepicker, proper portrait support etc)

The new edit menu layout is perfect. Thank you.
Although I was expecting the clear button to clear the saved times as well as name.
I agree the new colour scheme for alarms is better.

Would you consider allowing for more than 15 hours of cooktime? Like 48 or maybe even arbitrary numbers.

What do you need to cook for more than 16 hours?

From maybe a "logical" approach I should set the timer to "00:00:00". But I could not find a real practical use. The clear button is mainly meant for removing an item (empty text = removal of item at save). The time choosen is not relevant in that case. And even if I only wanted to edit an item by clearing the text first, I am not really helped by a reset to "00:00:00" that much, as I may want to set a time close to the old one.

@foobar:
I have to agree with mr_pingu and sixwheeledbeast. I have never made a meal that took more than 4 hours. Exending it to 99 hours is a small technical change, but it would make the timepicker more cramped. If some event really takes that long, you could perhaps better schedule an alarm using the (replacement) clock.
But you can always try to convince me with a practical example as why you would need that amount of hours (and come up with a better example then mr_pingu ).

IMO if you wish to keep the time you would edit the name, then edit the time.

I do understand your reasoning.

IMO if you keep your current logic, it would make more sense to put the clear button adjacent the name rather than at the end of the column.
This then makes more sense as to what the clear button does before you press it.

It may be a bit of an unexpected outcome at first glance...
And "Clear text" is to long to place on the button

I will take things under consideration. Thanks for your input.

Oh, I'd just like to use cooktimer as a general countdown app (not cooking related) and those countdowns might be longer than 16 hours. But it's no big deal if you think changing it is not a godd idea.
