disq,
thank you for your clarifications on how to use the playlist!
it seems to me Kagu is at a point where one would need a short "user manual", explaining the icons and the various functions they fullfill depending on the context... especially if you change the behaviour of the icons from one update to the next, the userwe already using the app are a bit lost...
My wishes for 1.0.7 as a hardcore KAGU user:
- please show the playback-buttons already when you first go into an album as it was up to 1.0.4 (at the moment the playback/pause/skip buttons on the right side are not visible when you simply select an album and did not touch CD+ to create a playlist)
- fullscreen-button as in all the other MAEMO apps (on top of the N800, not the "list" button) the usual full-screen button works as Start/stop at the moment, but I did not find out until some days ago... who is using this button???

The current plan is to keep pause/play where it is and make the menu button pull up a root menu consisting of "Albums (this is the current view), Artists, Genres, All Songs" and some additional functionality like "Minimize/Maximize, Turn Off Screen"

Actually, I just finished implementing Menu, Artists, and All Songs views today. I also moved the fullscreen toggle to an OSD button in the menu and changed the hardware button to pull up the menu.
We had a lot of requests for the All Songs view. If anyone would like to beta test this functionality, please feel free to follow the instructions in the Development Snapshot section of our wiki page. It's a mostly painless process. No compiling necessary. Just follow the instructions on the wiki.

I need this too, I'm afraid that I really can't make sense out of this app. I can't get it to play a single track. I have reasonable experience of media playing apps, for example UKMP performs flawlessly but Kagu is just not at all intuitive to my particular brain hardwiring. Sorry.

Seems to run OK. I am a little puzzle by the playlist icon and
how to use it, maybe the time has come for a little info on howto use it.
I'll make sure it's fixed in the next release.
BTW, we probably won't be doing a release today. We're looking to slow down release schedules to be bi-weekly instead of weekly, so expect the next release around the 2nd. Check the roadmap for our progress: https://www.guardiani.us/projects/kagu/roadmap
