@ maacruz, are the drain icons better? I haven't looked at your python script yet but this indicator is average for last 5 minutes.
Yes, they are better.
If you run the script, it will print the %battery and the drain current every 15 seconds. %battery is calculated from idle time, which has 1 min accuracy and a 1 min time resolution. Drain current is given in uA but has 1 mA accuracy and 5 sec time resolution
If you find any difficulty reading the python code drop me a PM

Yet another test release
  • cpu usage overlay for statusbar applet
  • desktop widget can be long pressed to restart the service

See steps from previous test release for installing it.

CPU usage worked with the power button or battery.

tried playing around with creating some bluetooth and wifi icons in 6 pixels of width, and came up empty...

The drag-down to exit is weird, I disabled it in settings, yet I can drag down the window.

Now my statusbar has just 4 icons in it, it feels strange, so empty...

The wifi/bt icons can be 10x28. There is 12 pixels on either side of the battery but you should try to maintain a 2 pixel gap, but parts of the icons can spill into the gap.

You can't disable the swipe to unmap. The setting disables unmap sliding, when disabled the window will vanish instantly instead of sliding down the screen.

I didn't want to mean that

That's what I meant, although I disabled the sliding, the window is dragged down instead of vanishing instantly

You can grab the button bar and slide the window up and down, can't disable that. When you let go and your finger is below where the button bar was then it will unmap. The setting determines how the window unmaps after you lift your finger.

Try this, press escape while ASUI is open, does it vanish or does it slide down the screen. The setting is working if it vanishes.

This feature is required so you can drag the ASUI window down a little (but not unmap it) to see the new BME drain indicator that is finished and will be tested and released when I wake up tomorrow.

Drawing blanks on the icons. The wifi one could pass as a wave of sorts, but the bluetooth one is very distinct.

New test binaries for ASUI, settings and statusbar.

The statusbar drain indicator now reads power draw from BME and is updated every 15 seconds. Colors are: <100 mA (gray), <200 mA (yellow), <350 mA (orange), >=350 mA (red), look good? Playing a video with mplayer is about 450, playing video with media player is about 200, idle with wifi varies from 70-200 depending on brightness.
