amazon asks you every 30 days if you want to keep your order, it's the same for everything you can preorder so don't bother

I wonder if it means something that nokia now has 2 holds on my account.

Something more than "ow, Nokia, stop holding $1410 in my account and ship my phone already."

I don't believe Nokia keeps any large stocks. I also doubt Nokia has warehouses for ready devices, but distributors and logistics companies like Brightpoint have large warehouses and keep stocks.

For example I ordered my 770 and N800 directly from Nokia but orders were delivered from a large logistic company named PFSweb.

From edgedemon with MPD

I spoke to them Fri after getting the following response

Hi

We have 500 or so pre orders and will be receiving around 1000 units from Nokia. The orders will be dispatched as soon as we get them; we can’t say the exact date due to the physical logistics of dispatching more than 500 pre orders, however we aim to complete the orders with 1-2 days.

Regards

Mobile Phones Direct Ltd

I rang them and they reckon they will start despatching Mon Afternoon - I wouldn't trust the delivery times on the web, they are set to manage expectations more than anythiing else..

I'm so glad I took a logic course back in university...

Here's my understanding of the situation and "facts".

Nokia has shipped the N900's (no info on when they are going to hit Nokia stores, or if they have to go through Finland or whatever)
A lot of reports are saying tomorrow (16th) or the following week 48.
There are people who have already received their N900 (some that won from the nokia N900 meetup lottery)

Nokia said at the meet ups that the winner will receive their N900 when it's released, therefore I can only logically think that it is going to be released very soon. Furthermore, I believe the shipment has arrived, therefore allowing the sending of the N900's to the meetup winners. It wouldn't make sense that the winners get their phones, say a month, before the actual release date.

The N900 is coming... The worst is behind...
