Not for the usage I'd forsee, no. A couple of years ago, HTC lent(?) us some of those big ones with removable keyboards, but the browser wasn't good enough. With this, the N9 is just not big enough for a virtual keyboard, and a bluetooth one would be a too complex user scenario.

although true.

I'm sure the price of the N9 will still be less than that of the iphone4 a year down the line - making it a direct competitor (i know it's speculation at this point) - but can't see why it wouldn't be given the price of a sim-free 32GB iphone 4

About Adobe Flash support: my bet is that we will have some Flash support sooner or later. First, because it will not be hard for Adobe to add Flash. After all, Harmattan is plain Linux with X11, so no need for special code, just a specialized build.

Second, because it's very likely that there will be other third party browsers, and some can differentiate adding plugin support and a Gnash build. Not perfect, but is enough for me. After all, Flash sucks. I just need it in cases where some idiot created the UI using flash. For video, is not that important, IMVHO, because your phone is a convenience pocket computer, not your main computer.

I agree.

Check availability for the US at:
http://europe.nokia.com/find-product...k-availability

??? Maybe waiting for WP7?

I just don't get it. Unless it won't be offered in the States, then I actually sort of get it (but hate Nokia for trying to rip off non-US customers in that way).

apply for the community device program, if you've done anything noticeable for the community in the past or if you plan to do so...

edit: of if you're a commercial dev within a company (individual is also possible) apply at Nokia launchpad.
Is there any chance of N950s being distributed to winners of the Meego Coding Competition?

If you check the MeeGo Roadmap, you will notice that North American radio standards are not supported until MeeGo release 1.3 in October - so in short, No. This device is not intended for the American Market.

According to everything I've read, the 16 GB N9 version will be more expensive than the unlocked 16 GB iPhone 4 is now (US market). And who knows what price drop Apple will have when the iPhone 5 is announced.
