The wave is still popular, but that is mostly due to the price and the fact that no better Bada phones has entered the market.

All in all, it is about the same ballpark as the Wave, and must be priced in the same ballpark around 300 €
300 Euro != $660 USD

It's gonna be overpriced initially. This is Nokia. Only company worse at pricing anything is Sony.

The big question is how open is this device and the software that runs it. Is it as hackable as the N900?
I read somewhere that is does have USB OTG. But incase it has not, is it possible to hack it to make it possible like on the N900? Is the calendar still closed source? Phone app?

And I see that not all applications work in landscape mode. Will it be possible to make that happen? That is one of the features that I like most on the N900. It is not like you can use any of these big screen devices one handed without moving your hand awkwardly or use the other hand to make multi-point gestures.

Though I like the device and will be buying it when is comes out, I will keep my N900 around. For the lulz :-)

Dream on. Judging by the launch prices of recent Nokia devices, I'd expect it to be closer to 500 euros. That won't stop me from buying one on release day, though.

But _we_ need phone like this... Customers want to pay for these toys and after that we get more Meego-equipment, later... If N9 would come success?

11:12:45 <alterego> Does it have fmtx?
11:13:02 <msugano> graphics is the top priority yes.
11:13:06 <jukkaeklund> msugano, thanks for the update on that
11:13:17 <msugano> alterego: i was only following the driver name.
11:13:23 <alterego> msugano: okay,
11:13:26 <msugano> the name implies it should have the rx or tx
11:13:37 <msugano> (the driver name)
11:13:43 <jukkaeklund> so might be that it can be enabled in meego..
11:13:44 <alterego> Hah
11:14:18 <jukkaeklund> on the N9, we could some fun stuff with enabling USB host mode to have keyboard etc.
11:14:22 <Sage> msugano: what about the battery management?
11:14:35 <alterego> jukkaeklund: it has hostmode?!
11:14:47 <jukkaeklund> alterego, not right now but I think the HW has
11:14:48 <msugano> battery management was not on my list. any concerns?
11:14:53 <alterego> I know it's pretty much the same SoC (updated obviously)
11:14:55 <leinir> alterego: the word is likely "not officially"
