I'll probably get shot for sticking this up but my doesn't it look purdy!

http://www.enlightenment.org/

Been following this since my earliest exploration into Linux.

What I wouldn't do for my Galaxy Note to have enlightenment running on it.

Nokia laid off the Maemo people, I don't think they have the people for new linux adventures amongst their 100k of symbian centric employees.

Yes, a real shame.

However I just saw my first Lumia advert on UKTV.

Oh dear .... did it sound lame. Not quite as lame as the Surface advert but lame just the same.

Hope springs eternal for a superb and completely open Linux device, I don't take my N900 out now in case I break it.

On the other hand, I just saw something that redeemed Nokia products a bit. Although they're all-capasitive now:
at a Lu~ 920 demo they used the screen with regular leather gloves *thumbsup*. Lack of glove support is one of my primary turnoffs with capasitive screens.

The lack of a stylus kills it for me (amongst other things), the Galaxy Note stylus is passable but not a patch on being able to use fingernails on the N900.

There's a distinct lack of products with fingernail support these days. Unless you go for no-brand with old resistive stock. I really want hybrid screens, but I guess it's hard to combine gorilla glass and pressure sensitivity.

Microsoft is poisoning it's dagger:

Wall Street Journal: Microsoft tests their own smartphones

However, Nokia's still growing (on WinP8, I assume)

Maybe some big investors are panicking about shorting NOK and losing money while at it due to the recent rise. So, what better way to reverse the situation than giving their buddy @ WSJ a call and asking him to report about rumors of something that is bad to the Nokia stock..

Wall Street Journal doesn't appear to be that easy to manipulate. There are always rumors on Wall Street. This isn't iNgadget.
