Heh.. gee, I wonder why? :P Tablets are for running software, not just browsing. But to your point, you DO realize that I could web browse with the best of them on Androids, too, right? In fact, I have Firefox, Opera Mobile, Dolphin, Chrome and any choice of browser I feel comfortable with and I can bring those apps with me DAY ONE to any new Android device that comes out. What does the N9 have? More importantly, can you bring your apps immediately with you to this new device, as I can with Android and even with iOS? I'm not convinced that the N9 is a particularly well throught-out device. I'm very disappointed that it doesn't fit well into just about any use case right now. We'll see how it turns out, though. Seeing as how the hardware isn't anything special, I don't suspect much interest.

Looks to me like just another rank rush to negativism without thinking it through first. How's that limb holding up?
Perhaps we'll let the market speak for itself, then? So far, it hadn't really been hot to jump on the N900 and I suspect the N9 (from all I've seen and initial reactions from those outside of TMO so far) will not be particularly enthusiastic. For the record, that limb is doing quite fine now that I stopped hanging on every promise from Nokia, thanks.

N900 is still not for masses, I was offered a really good price by a dude for this phone but I didn't sell because I thought he would curse me for selling a phone that he couldn't operate, it may be technologically most advanced phone but for end users it lags in almost all aspects including basic phone functionalities....... its a developer's delight....... why were we so looking forward to N9 when n900 is perfect? because we were expecting something that is probably going to be N900 plus more , did n9 live upto expectations ..... leave it you all or should I say 'time will tell'..... for me on the face of it it looks just another phone on the market which can possibly Nokia give the volume that it is trying to chase ....

.......for now I'd say - long live Maemo long live n900.
I've been hanging around these forums for 18 months now, having got an N900. I'm not a developer, nor geek really but love a class phone that's distinctive and powerful, niche market I guess.

I can understand the launch of the N950. It's a great way to keep the devs happy. I'm certain it will be just as open and tweakable as the N900. I'd probably buy one myself if it was slimmer than it's predecessor. (remember, I'm primarily a consumer, so bulges in pockets are embarrassing in female company :-) and available to buy, which it won't ).

The N9 is the bigger puzzle, why launch a consumer device which Nokia has at least stated that it doesn't intend to support. Think ahead...Nokia + WP7 as mass smartphone strategy; Symbian being wound down til 2016 and Meego sidelined for 'future disruptions'.

Did someone tell Elop, "you can have WP7, but we keep Meego in our back pocket"? It didn't stop the CTO resigning/going on indefinite leave, but it kept the window open.

@danramos

This is a pretty positive article from someone that tested the N9 for a few hours.

Well see, why exactly should we convince you that we like the N9? And why are you here if you hate everything that Nokia and MeeGo evolves into? The point is, it is not that I disagree with your points of view, it is more that your points of view are irrelevant.

I say screw the friggin hwkb, hopefully Nokia will continue to make meego tablets with hwkb if the N9 is succesful.
Well, you know the party doesn't really start until I show up here. Also, I hope you're right, though I clearly have my overwhelming doubts. heh

I read that earlier.....it's very honest and unbiased! I was pretty shocked to read it on Engadget too. Just goes to show eh?

This site as been more negative about N9 than on media sites, blogs & ppl on twitter, where its been applauded and got lots of positivity.
so i dont accept dan that only people on here like the N9.
well Over 1 million hits on youtube combining videos shows the amount of interest from the wider public too.

This site should be more positive than anywhere! Two great new devices! Provided the devs can all get their hands on the querty N950 of course, otherwise I foresee lots of bottom lips drooping
