You can have it now, no problem with PR 1.2

Yeah but some users report a bit of jerkyness, so maybe that's improved.
I REALLY hope video playback performance is improved, that's a BIGGY IMO.
And beyond that all the nastiest bugs need to have been squashed.

I assume you're joking but just in case....
MS/Nokia have already explicitly said that won't be possible.*
The best current Lumia phones can expect is WP7.8.
The depth of features it offers aren't clear yet, but many of them will be quite superficial.
As WP7.8 won't exploit much of the lower-level changes that WP8 brings.

*Enthusiast community MAY work out a way...
But given the slow progress with interup-lock I have my doubts.

Ohh yes I was joking I just wanted to show, how wrong such unconfirmed statements can be.

The sales person told me that before Microsoft's WP8 announcement (I didn't mention that). Among others I never expected that WP8 would ever run on Lumia800/900.

But I questioned that guy out why he wants to sell me a Lumia phone (after he came to me saying that my N9 would not be that "fast&smooth" - yes we know that's the typical Windows phrase). But after he was (very fast) out of arguments he came up with the idea that with the next Lumia update I could use any Windows 8 PC application on that phone

Sorry very off-topic all that.

A few days ago I received a further email from Nokia Store Technical Support regarding PR 1.3, so it would appear that it's still arriving.

Hi Stuart,

Thanks for the update, you will have to re-submit your application and if it fails PR1.3 I'll ask for QA to waive it through since there is a possibility that regression has occurred in that API after the firmware update.

Sincerely,

Paul

Confirmation that they are still working on it, but not confirmation that it will be released ever.

This looks good from where I'm sitting. Don't care if this arrives late summer at this point; I'd rather it came as a working PR because if it is sent out broken and buggy, there'll be no one at Nokia Towers to fix it. The Maemo work labs will have already been converted into Elop's poker and hockey rooms.

As always on this forum, patience is required!

I wonder after the Meego-Harmattan project is fully closed, will they be able to release the development tools and source code to us. I wish they do so we could continue making our own updates!

I think there's more chance of Elop being voted in as the new president of Finland to be honest mate.

The Maemo harddrives are toast, and Elop struck the match.
