My take on this is that is expectations and market release and expect of the 920. It has nothing to do with ecomics or sales releases of low end phones. Nokia has potential for easy money. But the risk long term is pretty high even if it's far from critical at the moment as some may think.

Engadget's review of the 920:

Nokia arguably offered up the best hardware for the last iteration of Windows Phone. Does it repeat that success here? Yes, but it ties with the HTC 8X for that honor.
All your incredible shots of that great night out will also be tinged by SkyDrive frustrations and limited ways to share them -- something that Microsoft's mobile OS is going to have to deal with if they really want to become the third choice in smartphone operating systems.
But, for all that Windows Phone 8 does right (superb maps, zippy browser, simplicity), those holes in the app selection remain something that needs to be plugged.

So WP8 is still not ready and the game-changer

You stupid woman WP8 is not a game changer. I guess lots of people will explain WP8 in those terms, but there is nothing there that suggests it will change the game. WP8 is in catch up mode. It tries to be there, in the new game created by Apple and Google.

Will they succeed? of course they will. But not in the black and white mode you little fanboy trolls here on TMO are thinking.

To quote from here:

Everything is ready for the launch of WP8. Services in all parts of the world and 100k apps, and everything in time for Windows 8 and the Surface.

P.S. Who's the fanboy now, specc?

I don't give a rats *** if they "succeed" or not. What matters to me is that some cool devices comes out of all that. Having said that, of course they will succeed, but NOT in the "rule the world" mode you are looking at.

I have several Androids, the latest I got just a couple of days ago, the Sony Go (waterproof, dustproof, St Ericsson dual core chip-set ). I have the N900, the N800, the N9. And I have ONE Lumia, the Lumia 800.

The Sony Go, is excellent, and it's cheap. BUT, WP has a better UI. What is best, the Go or the 800? I would say the Go from a pure objective stand, more bang for the buck, but the 800 still has a better UI and a better screen.

Call me a gadget junky, but a fanboy?

I've Droids, iPhones (3G, 3GS, 4, 4S), WP, n900, n9 so?

My post was that WP8 according to the engadget reviewer is still not ready for the prime-time...

You came back to me with a trolling post calling me a fanboy etc

I simply posted evidence of YOU stating that WP8 would be ready as in everything is ready for the launch of WP8 including apps etc...

Now you say you are a gadget junky...I honest don't care about what you are...However, if you quote me and cite me as a fanboy for something you now are agreeing with in hindsight I would obviously post evidence of you being wrong in the first place...

Like they say, pick only those fights you know you are going to win...You didn't have to troll my general remark which was simply a reaction to the engadget review...

P.S. Many people around here are gadet junkies too e.g. gerbick...

Or, in the case of Specc, just junkie.. with the emphasis on 'junk'.

Yet another example of the TMO-reject-reality syndrome
