Argh can't get it to work, tried deleting and starting over. To bad since I was going rely on it this weekend for the conference I am attending.

Meh, hopefully DC's alerts will be good enough.

Hi,

I've been using theonering for months now and the most recent version has been quite solid for a while now. I want to pay for it, but I can't see how. Your web pages do not have a link to a PayPal donation button and a search of this thread only reveals a single person who asked a similar question. Please let me know how I can send a donation to you for all of your hard work that has made the N900 a viable device for me to use.

I view payment for free software in 3 categories, bounties, donations, and patronage. As I'm not seeking patronage for my work nor generally working by bounty I don't advertise it but I leave payments on a as-requested-by-user basis. My email address for paypal is eopage AT byu DOT net.

There are a couple of settings, one to pull down your GV contacts, one to use system contacts, and one for how often to refresh the GV contacts. This only updates TOR contact information only.

Is there any way to get messages pushed to the phone instead of polling? I really like the integration that TOR offers, but sms messages take a while to show up on the device (polling is set to every 10 minutes).

I ended up using gvmax, and it works great except for the fact that I have to manually add addresses for contacts.

Android has push messaging for google voice sms, but I am not sure how they implemented it (and I don't think the code is available).

I really do not want to setup a server or play with IMAP to do what gvmax does.

I've not found out how Android does things. I would love to.

So for now that leaves polling or disabling TOR's SMS support and using SMS through email.
