hi ajalkane

just a question, do we still need to incept the package in order to mess with flight mode and to get it working as expected? Older versions (<1.70) doesn't work as they should

The new versions are all out in Store so for them to pass Store QA they can't be using any loopholes like inception...

You just need to install from Store and it will work...

Well, older versions, 1.6.x are in store too, and still have the probllem with fligh profile rules, missing credentials, don't starting an start-up and don't remembering the rule and needing reinstall of the app, almost all of this caused by rebooting the device.

Do we still have this problem? my incepted 1.7.0 works ok, and i'm very happy, but i want to update to 1.7.1, and don't want to miss this feature (and only want to incept packages if it's the last option)

The path for starting up profilematicd is /opt/bin/profilematic/bin/profilematicd. This is incorrect, it's actually in /opt/profilematic/bin/profilematicd. When running it from the command line it works and my profile was automatically enabled.

Even more weirdness, is that when I restarted it by doing /sbin/initctl start apps/profilematicd under devel-su, it seems to work still. Must be something in the initial boot up that is causing it to only semi-work.
That is very weird. Can you share what kind of rules you have, maybe it will shed some light into this.

1.7.x versions do not need inception anymore for flight mode. At least I've had no problems with the credentials anymore, nor have I heard of anyone else having problems.

My profile is pretty simple, it activates when connected to my home WLAN. Then sets my accounts as online. Just Yahoo, Skype, Facebook and gtalk.

Then it runs the command

opensh -c "echo 'nameserver 10.1.1.1' > /etc/resolv.conf"
When the profile turns off, it is suppose to run

opensh -c "echo 'nameserver 127.0.0.1' > /etc/resolv.conf"
This is for switching to my internal network's DNS.

I have figured out the reason 'smartphones' were invented. They are for reading the internet while pooping. This means the best smartphone ever created is the N9. It is the only one that works so well single-handed.

I have no explanation for your problem. There should be no difference between starting the daemon using initctl and in the normal way. Of course when booting the phone the daemon is not started immediately, it takes 3-5 minutes until it is started, but eventually it should apply the rule.

I guess the only thing I can surmise is some problem caused by another application or hack. Maybe if you look into /var/log/syslog you could see if there's something weird going on.

Interesting. I looked at it, and with the exception of a few times in syslog where it says profilematicd was killed with a SIGTERM (thought it was when I was resetting it, but I didn't see anything saying it was started back up). But I did also see this;

Sep 22 17:47:27 (2012) profilematicd[4284] :GLIB WARNING ** default - /usr/share/accounts/services/gmail.service: using wrong XML for groups; please change to <group_name="settings">
That XML file is in the package 'account-plugin-gmail' which I believe is part of the default install. I don't think I would have ever changed it, but N9qtweak may have? I'll see if reinstalling the package changes anything.
