I did a grep for 'group_name' in the /usr/share/accounts/services/ directory and none of them have that, they are all <group name ="paramaters"> etc. many different settings. Is there anything specific that profilematic would be looking at (in particular for gmail.services to be complaining)?

Hi ajalkane,
Firstly, kudos on a brilliant app and on supporting it so thoroughly. I can't imagine my N9 without this level of added functionality!
The second thing is this: I've got my phone set to check my gmail account every 20 mins. I'd like to set up a rule where when I'm at work (condition based on cell info), it stops scanning for emails (custom action). Is there a shell script for this action?

I don't know of such a script, but perhaps someone has done such a script. The account settings are probably in ~/.accounts/accounts.db which is a SQLite file. So probably it can be changed by a script with some SQL query, but that's all I know about it.

Wait for 1.7.2 which is waiting for Nokia's approval to Store. It should work as you outlined in that version. If not, let me know.

There's not really anything specific ProfileMatic looks for. As can be expected, ProfileMatic only needs to iterate over available chat accounts, query the availability status and change it.
I do not know how this operation maps into those service files. ProfileMatic uses Qt's Telepathy libraries to do the operations.
Regarding that warning you get, I'm pretty sure I've seen it also, and thus it is "normal" and should not cause any problems per se.

Removing my gmail account and recreating it seemed to have fixed the issue with my custom profile, thanks for the troubleshooting hints.
It doesn't seem to reactivate the default one though, but that's okay since the default one doesn't really have any customizations that I need it to do anyhow, since my command line makes the change when activated, and changes it back when deactivated.
Awesome application, I'll be sure to donate next month when I have a bit more cash floating around
Go figure that I'd be the one to find such an odd and random bug (though I think you're right in that it isn't profilematicd that has the bug, but something else that is causing issues with profilematicd.)
Thanks for all your help so far, I just removed my gmail account and am rebooting the phone for testing.

I have figured out the reason 'smartphones' were invented. They are for reading the internet while pooping. This means the best smartphone ever created is the N9. It is the only one that works so well single-handed.
