FWIW I have kinetic scrolling disabled.

I will repeat here because you probably won't read the edit I made:

In the maemo extras repo, what the other text boxes contain?

It is not true in my case. If it is a flash based video on a page, Microb starts to show it immediately, but Tear waits long time without any signs of what's going on ( buffering?) before start the video. Very annoying.

Here we are:

Catalog name: maemo
Web address: http://repository.maemo.org
Distribution: -this is blank-
Components: user
Disabled: no, box unchecked

FYI under the failed to refresh message it states: http://repository.maemo.org/dists/di...el/Packages.gz
404 not found IP:204.2.136.73 80

Qole's also gives me the 404 not found though I can go there via browser.

Well, components are "free non-free", not "user"

What about qole's? It should be:

Catalogue Name: Qole
Web address: http://qole.org/repository
Distribution: maemo
Components: main

Qole's now works! Is there a change I can make to maemo's?

Regardless, I really appreciate your help!

And now Tear installs. Perfect. Thanks again!

Finally, I figured out maemo's repository info; it was outdated. I had an updated version already.

Bundyo, thanks again for taking so much time to help out.

I have noticed something interesting. The kids complained that some of their little flash game sites would not play with MicroB, but now they are playing just fine with Tear.
