It starts the call, then says "Call Disconnected" but I never get the call back from google voice.

Is the feature just broken or is it just me?
thanks
When TOR makes a call, it starts but then goes "disconnected". A real incoming call should then happen. If you are not getting the incoming call then that is a problem. Have you confirmed the callback number is the correct one? Could you email or PM a log to me? Anything show up on the gv website?

My forwarding number was set correctly, and I also have it set on my voice.google.com account to the correct number.
I checked the log, so I could send it to you, and I noticed that the forwarding number it was sending to was incorrect.
For some reason the "screen name" that was being displayed under the GV settings on the N900 was the wrong forwarding number. Apparently TOR was sending the call to the wrong forwarding number, even though the correct number was in the "Forward" box.

I changed my "screen name" to the correct forwarding number, and now the call is forwarded correctly.

I'm emailing you a copy of my log.

Been using this app for quite some time and this is my main app for txting now, no longer use the GSM txt service but I still have a question:
How can I use my system contacts to send a txt. I start a new IM conversation using TOR but then I have to manually copy the number, why cant i pick up the number from my contacts? Preferably, I dont want to use GV contacts, because I dont keep all my conacts on GV website, my phone has the mastercopy.
If the info is already there on how to do this, can someone please point me to it,

If I might make a suggestion - do not populate the avatar/picture in the contacts comming down from Google Voice with a default icon.

I noitced that my contacts that did have a picture set, all got overwritten when I merged the contacts. Other than that, it seems to work great!

Yeah, TOR is kind of schizophrenic in taking the number form either and advanced setting or the nickname, sometime I should go and clear that up. The nice thing about nickname is it can change without a login/logout (I think that is required if changing a setting ...).

Feel free to file a bug about the confusion of this with any suggestions on what way it should go.

There is an advanced setting to not display GV contacts through TOR. I've tried to enable TOR links on system contacts but there is a bug and it only allows me to set either SMS or Call and I don't have control over which so there can't be a setting for it.

I agree overwriting on merge is bad. I'm mixed about either making a setting for this (its nice at a glance to know phone type) or somehow learn more about merging to make TOR have lower priority.

Please file a bug.

Is there a way to get this working without an internet connection, or is that not possible?

If not, approximately how much data does this app use to initiate a GV callback / send text messages?

I don't think any implementation of a GV client can operate without a dataplan. They would have to be setup to auto-navigate the phone menus and take in your PIN. It is possible but not a priority.

Dialcentral is designed to use exactly what you explicitly ask for and no more. It has the same cost as using the website.

TOR has support for polling for SMS / Voicemail / Contacts. These can be configured to be minimized or even disabled. It then takes as much as you ask for except it does double check that you are logged in when transferring networks. Maybe, maybe I could minimize this even more. So the cost of this is opening/closing the web browser every time you change networks.

What do you mean? I'm using it with an empty SIM card now, and I used it with no SIM whatsoever for like the first month or so.

I thnk Ed means data connectivity. Not necessarily SIM card based data - even Wifi will do - TOR uses the Internet to do magic.

Correction: Some data connection, dataplan or WIFI. What I mean is that I don't know of a client that works only with a voice connection.
