Standard Tear install ( no css customizations)

When I connect to the link you provide, the page initially loads @ 100% width and then switches to the smaller layout. ?don't know if this helps or not?

On a related note... in portrait 140% zoom fills the width almost perfectly. Is there a way to force the zoom for this (or any specified) site to a predetermined zoom level?

What i'm saying is that the standard Tear install has that line in the CSS file already. Perhaps google changed the page...?

Hmm, its working for me, but with the iPhone user agent. Just tried with normal user agent and it also works but with the normal mobile interface (ugly). Didn't try your link though, entered as iphone through www.gmail.com

Interesting, it still works using your link... Hmm, try running tear from terminal and look if it says something about the userstyles.css? Maybe it doesn't gete loaded? You can check in the dashboard - if the input and button have rounded corners - it doesn't work.

Yep, rounded corners on both the input and the button on Dashboard. I'll try watching the command line, good idea. I don't get it though

maybe the first line is it looking for userstyles. i dont know where else it would look? maybe in /root/.tear ?
..nope, tried that too, made no difference, and dbus won't let me run it as root. I'm at a loss. At least I can do it with greasemonkey+microB, for now. Thanks for trying Bundyo

...and I don't know what's up with user '1000' ...never heard of him..chown-ing and chgrp-ing it didn't change anything either.

...and get some hideous version that spreads 100%. I've never seen that one before, just typed it in and ended up with it. This all belongs in a different thread.

Just a sanity check if my problem with Tear is local... I open t.m.o. in a minimalistic theme, click in the quick reply textarea, type a few letters and then press dpad left a couple of times, and when the cursor is right at the start, a further left press freezes Tear insantly (no CPU load, no screen refresh, just sits there). Anybody encounter anything similar ?

The bookmark button on the Dashboard to my exported MicroB bookmarks will not launch the page on either my N800 or N810. I can however make it the home page. I have the file saved in the Documents folder. Any ideas what might be blocking that process?
