MPD have been saying the 16th for quite a while. nokia.co.uk have been saying the 9th for just as long, or longer.

Mobile Phones Direct has been saying Nov. 16 since at least Oct 22nd, so I don't think that represents any additional delay.

Neither I nor my colleague have had either a call or email from Nokia UK despite preordering them directly. Anyone have an idea if these are being worked through from the 1st days of preorder ?

I <3 Nokia USA date change to "END OF NOVEMBER 2009" They should add an "if you are lucky" piece to the end of it. I wonder if the SE X10 will hit the shelves first with its beefier hardware

An even worse person to scorn is a fanboy techie

Bratag is not a fanboy. He is kind of like Mad Max wondering the OS tundra- looking for an OS to call home.

I preordered for myself, then cancelled that and did it through my Mrs a couple of days later.

Then sent me the email, but not her. I called up on her behalf and they re took the order for me, so it might pay to give them a call and double check yours is still on order.

They told me there was a technical problem with the pre-orders, although I suspect they are trying to get out of the cashbacks schemes!

It does make you wonder.

The email says that they need to check if you still want the device that you pre-ordered, and to confirm that your payment details are still current. But when you phone, it's a different story: they tell you there's a technical problem with your order, and they need to cancel it and replace it with a different order.

Furthermore, the person I spoke to didn't sound like a typical call centre droid. She sounded like a well-educated office worker, and had a detailed and specific knowledge of the N900 pre-ordering process, situation, shipping dates etc.

Regards,
Roger

After seeing a few post mentioning Nokia sending emails and cancelling Pre-orders I decided to contact Nokia (UK) to see what was going on.

I was told that there was a problem with the order system and that the Nokia rep had to check to see if my order was affected by the so called order system issue. Fortunately my order wasn't affected and I don't have to re-order I used 2 of the codes that HASS posted in a thread somewhere and TopCashBack.

The Nokia rep told me that they are due to get there first shipment next Monday 09/11/09 and will start shipping.

Hopefully. I'm not really relying on this info, As the saying goes...

I'll believe it, when I see it.
