I say X because they aren't certain how many units of the BH-505 are allocated.

Here's hoping the N9 arrives on time or early!!!

Edit: Had a chance to play with the display units available at the store - sexy beast!!!

Wrong!! IMHO:
1- N900 is/was for techies
2- Iphone is always for dummies
3- N9 is for Techies+Dummies
4-Android is for everyone (when you have no other option)

btw, went to a nokia store ystd and checked out the 701 with symbian belle. Its far far better than its successors. was nice and snappy n dint seem to lag even with a couple of apps open in the background. had angry birds, music, another game, web app and some video open in the background, still was more than decently responsive.
If Nokia could introduce a symbian belle phone with a decent camera (read N8) I think it mite even serve as a replacement for N9, in case it doesnt get launched in my country.

Android is also for techies - custom ROM's, kernel changes, overclocking, other manipulations... those are all tinkerer type of stuff.

Blackberry was popular,
But now they are few.
The Android's for most techies
But the iPhone's for you!

It really isn't. But since the entire industry seems to have blown it individually and collectively, it's the only (let's say, with huge caveats) "currently available" device a techie might be interested in, apart from the "buy an android device and hack the $#@! out of it" route.

I put aside about USD700 as soon as there was news of a possible N920 which was about 2 months after the N900 was released... always good to have a "I Need This Gadget Now" fund.

Seems like a hellacious process to buy a phone!
Seen several folks in the same position (inc. this epic thread) claim they've had no issue.
Not between US/Canada (that sounded like hell shallimus), it was mostly between US & some Germanic/Nordic countries IIRC.
I think there was also something to do with EU laws around warranty extending to retailers.
And so they're also generally helpful in the process etc...
