This *is* possible! Android has you covered!

If the N900/BB is acting as an AP (access point) via WiFi, then yes, the Tab can be tethered to it in that way. After all, it's just connecting to another WiFi hotspot -- the N900/BB being the hotspot in this case.

Also, with an app called pdanet, you can do USB and bluetooth tethering without command line hacking or root access. But it is costly, it's going for $16 right now.

Very nice.

I should add that Bluetooth DUN/PAN are going to be supported in Android directly, and likely with the next major version!

It's in testing right now, and can be tested from froyo for those that don't mind navigating the command line.

The Android market now has 100K apps! It looks like Android is gearing up to take the pole position!

http://androidandme.com/2010/10/news...ver-100k-apps/

This represents a 1000% growth in the last year! While we can't expect this growth trend to happen forever, there apparently are more than 270K developers developing on the platform currently, so this time next year, phones and tablets may have a similar growth in applications.

Of course, this number doesn't take into account external markets (eg. v-cast store, archos market, upcoming amazon market, gameloft store, etc).

But even without growth speculation, 100K apps represents a fine selection of applications for consumers and OSS advocates alike.

For future Tab owners, this is a very nice bit of news.

Techrader review of the Tab. Far more negative than positive. However, the review is littered with so much ipad love and their thoughts so diffrent from what anyone else has said that it makes it difficult to view them as objective.

Here is a rather cool looking home screen replacement user interface for android phones. I am sure we will start seeing things like this specifically developed for tablets and taking advantage of the space.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817443

I have noticed that on all the videos I have seen of the Tab the wallpaper on each of the five screens. I hope you can actually have unique wallpapers on each screen otherwise that would be rather boring.

Also is it possible to hack it to have more than 5 screens? I thought android supported more than five (and HTC sense has 7).

What a ridiculous 'review'. It should have been considered a 'versus' article on an apple fan-site.

The review harps on the same tired arguments that fanbois troll about it blog comments, and finds the device lacking in very specific areas compared to the iPad (eg. size, battery life, browser scrolling, or dedicated tablet apps). Now these points are worth consideration in an unbiased review, but when the review focuses on only these points as comparative fodder, it begins to wreak of bias.

Of course, the review fails to capture characteristics of the Android OS that might make this device useful and desired. For instance, text dictation or in-built navigation. It similarly doesn't delve into the bundled apps as a point of differentiation.

Lastly, it brings up some things are are known fallacies. For example, it talks about 'holding the device to one's head and looking like an idiot.' Of course an individual would look (and arguable be) an idiot if they were holding something to their heads to use as a phone -- that clearly isn't a phone. Perhaps the reviewer is said idiot?

He also mentions that fonts can look fuzzy on the Tab because they're scaled up to the larger screen, or emphasizing that Google stated that Froyo isn't ready for tablets and market apps simply wont work. This is known to be false.

The Tech Radar review, isn't a credible review, and should be avoided.

No hacking necessary, depending on your Launcher UI. I use LauncherPro and I can select to have as little as one screen or as many as seven screens on my little old Motorola Droid, simply by selecting how many I want in the Preferences menu.
