And how about a shorter name?
Original blue icon is not permitted to be used by unofficial apps. If/when the app reached a working alpha, I might reconsider the name again! But in its current state, name is the least important thing :P

Was one of the names I consider (and I think the main one), but, IIRC, it was either name of an existing app, or ... I don't remember actually. :P But I think it was rejected for some reason.

Hmmmm... I'm not sure if it can be called "live". But it is not dead either. I am hopeful to be able to put some time on it soon... (but don't promise until you can see at least one commit to the source repo!).

Good point regarding the legal aspects, I always forget about those.

Splash screen can be customized at any point anyway, I was rather bumping this thread, wondering to replace empty space in my 'Social' folder left by broken Instago* with a bright new Telegram messenger : )

*(Instagram effectively shut down most third-party apps)

i don't know too much about other applications. never heard before. it just sounds better i think. but if it's not "available" then i understand.

And something else I remembered: I told MeeGram to a few people and all of them thought it should be related to instagram! Probably this was another reason for not selecting it.

Currently i'm using telegram web with MeeFox, not perfect but i can read and answer to text messages, watch photos and listen to audio messages.
