Absolutely incorrect. You are confusing things.

The community has a large say in the success of the devices, in a variety of ways.

But-- Nokia owns the infrastructure and funds the venture.

Keeping the roles and responsibilities distinct is important to understanding how and why things happen around here. No one here with any real say has ever misrepresented what's what. Period.

I managed to get the emulators before removal from the repositories, but when I try to access the emulator menus or play a rom, the app exits out back to home screen.

I click the top bar to got to the menus- exits out

I click on a rom, same thing

Does this for all three emulators. Roms work on Dash, G1, Droid and Dingoo, but it seems the problem is not the roms.

Does anybody know why Nokia is having problems with Nintendo and not some of the other system makers?
Ubuntu also has emulators in the repositories, the gp2x wiz also advertises the use of of emulators, and there is even a javascript implementation of a NES emulator.

Why is this only a problem on Maemo?

Because a Nokia employee advertised it. I don't think Nintendo and any other game company is so stupid to think that emulators don't exist on every electronic device out there. But if you advertise it, your going be in trouble.

It's also important to note that emulators themselves are not illegal. Roms are. The problem is the Nokia employee advertised playing classic (Nintendo) games on the n900 in a Nokia sponsored Youtube video. Very, very dumb move. Had the Nokia employee advertised using the emulators to play some homebrew then Nintendo would have no legal ground.

I would assume because Nokia is one of the biggest brands and corporations on the planet. Ubuntu and gp2x (whatever the latter is, no idea) are very small fish compared to it. Nintendo is bound to be much more interested about what Nokia does.
