I only wish that were true. The standard wireless router distributed by my my ISP (a Siemens) doesn't work with power saving.

@TokyoDan - Can you please report on FON coverage in Tokyo? I'd be willing to join the FON network if it has fairly widespread coverage.

TIA!

I to had problems with FON and other Atheros based routers. When I set the power saving to intermediate I get a stable connection.

Hello Klaatu00001,

I have yet to find a FON Spot besides my own. The other day I actually went around the local area to where FON routers are supposedly sharing wireless according to the FON map of the same area. No dice. Anyway I am registered with two other wireless providers.

Wireless Gate and Flets Spot

Ahem, what I should have said was that even most cheapest models can handle power saving (at least in my experience, I only buy the cheapest model routers).

I installed the USBControl on my N810 with Diablo and it works perfectly. But I wonder what the 1st button is for.

OTG button: When is the purpose of this button?
Peripheral button: Use when connecting the N810 to a computer.
Host button: Use when connecting a USB slave device to the N810.

As far as I know there's no danger to the tablet in connecting a USB device, so if you want to find out what happens, try it.

The method in the tutorials requires a F-F USB adaptor which costs just a handful of dollars or euros or pounds because it's basically just a bit of metal.

USB On-The-Go (OTG) breaks the host/peripheral scheme of traditional USB. Devices that support OTG aren't always a host or a peripheral, but instead are able to negotiate their connections with one another, exchanging their master and slave roles as necessary to transfer files or whatnot.

Either there's something wrong with your tablet, or you have some settings that need altering, or there's something wrong with the connection itself.

Whatever the problem, your experience with the tablet is definitely not typical.

Did you try closing and reopening the browser after you switched Fit Width To View off?

Can you get ANY websites to load normally?

Are you running any applications in the background while you're using the browser?

Did you update the firmware and reformat the internal 2GB memory card before using the N810?

Regarding a reset, IMHO the best way to do that is to reinstall the firmware. If you've already downloaded the firmware the reinstallation shouldn't take too long.
If you are in the browser, then click "web", "tools", "clear", and you have your options there.

Hi TokyoDan;

I've been watching this thread with great interest. I lived in Tokyo (Tachikawa) when I was 7 for two years; my Dad was in the Air Force. I had a great time; we went on lots of trips, to Kyoto, Yokohama, Fuji, etc. Saw the 1964 Olympics. The Japanese people were great to us. I cherish those memories. Cherry trees in the spring. 2000 year old teacups in museums. Learning to compose Haiku in class:

Somewhere in Spacetime
Her smile always shines for me
A Universe of light.

(that one I wrote last week for my daughter)

Koniciwa OhioGosimas! (my spelling is as bad as my Japanese!)

Now that you seem to have most of the usability problems solved, you might find my experiences with my n810 helpful:
