So, Ryan, any news on an upcoming release?

AWESOME!!
I created a rather long memo in maemopadplus copied and pasted it into a blank *.doc file, added a picture, saved it with a .doc extension, copied it to my laptop and opened it with Word 2003.

It complained when I saved it with the .doc extension but it worked.

Dang this makes the NIT powerful.
I haven't tried the Open Office Software on the NIT, but Abiword loads quickly and only bombed once, so far.

I was thrilled by the prospect of using abiword but it looks like it is not installable. It say it misses quite a few dependencies. And btw so does Gnumeric. Should I wait for a new version? I am not into programming, so it should not be too complex.
Thanks
Antonio

Check your repositories, I've got both running fine.

Thanks gemniii42, I am running chinook and the 'mameo' extra-devel is for Diablo. Is that the problem? should I instead use the Testing Maemo Extras repo? Or should I just refresh the repo?

I would suspect it would be better to try and use the chinook repos.

Except that I don't think the latest abiword is in the Chinook repos, so using them means using no abiword.

Thanks, I will try the Testing repo, which is in Chinook, and will report the outcome here. It looks that the version in Testing is a slightly different one, probably older.

My install of Gnumeric went fine on N800/Diablo.

Abiword failed to locate "defoma" and "defoma (>=0.11)

What repository am I missing? I went to red pill mode and it's not on the list, either.

Thanks for everyone's help...

I found it here:
http://repository.maemo.org/pool/mae...free/d/defoma/
Can I just install this .deb file then install Abiword?
