There's always the "thumb" on individual profile pages also. Except:
  • I don't think it's included in the karma calculation.
  • bug # 4317
  • It's likely to be sought out more often than the "heart".

(My apologies for taking this thread off topic.)

That appears to be a duplicate of #4317.

Mostly. But, it's asking for the removal of the feature. But, yeah, it should be marked.

Unless you are trying for sponsorship for something else?

I get the feeling from LinkedIn statements that some have already been approved for sponsorship... is this a true or false assumption? I haven't seen any updates on selection since the process was discussed-- did I just miss it?

Anyway, how/when should I expect to learn if I may be approved? I have another conference scheduled at the same time but if I was eligible for sponsorship I'd MUCH prefer to go to the Maemo summit and just cancel the other. I'm making great progress on a presentation!

I sure hope not, since the process is supposed to be transparent (and the council is supposed to be involved). Perhaps something separate from the community sponsorship?

I submitted a talk too, and waiting for approvation (or rejection, like the other one I submitted ).

I really would like to be at the Summit, but I really cannot be there without sponsor (since I'm a student and don't have a job).

I know my karma isn't so bad, but I really would like to be there giving my little contribute (even 5 minutes talk) and not to be there just for my karma.

Crossing fingers and waiting

AFAIK the sponsorship process didn't started yet.
