NOKIA your well and truly going to suffer badly for sure sure unless you pull this together and give people there monie's worth, get a life NOKIA and do something to gain back the credit you once had.

I have to agree with your somewhat aggrieved slander of Nokia's mismangement of the N900.
I was very naive when i purchased the phone. Coming from the E71 i expected all the mainstream apps on symbian to be ported to maemo along with some exciting commercial apps and games that made use of the N900 processing power.
Whilst this is an opensource smartphone/internet tablet, Nokia really should of supported the development progress of this phone. Spent £400 on a phone that Nokia has no plans on developing fully, what a kick in the nuts
I'm thinking of purchasing the Ipod Touch as an alternative media player/apps console and mobile gaming device, while using my N900 as a mini internet browser.

The most harrowing thing about it all is the mad assumptions people are coming out with when we should all realise whatever said and done is facts are facts and the facts of the N900 whatever future it has is... why NOKIA has sold this mobile as a FLAGSHIP DEVICE oh my god what an understatement i have ever ever come across in my life and this is 2010. IF nokia DO come out with any device of any kind that is in any way a linux based device then i am sure if we dont get some results out of this N900 from NOKIA that a lot of court cases against NOKIA will proceed ! i for one will be in the front of that cue and demand a FULL refund and or a future replacement. We have all been duped conned by Nokia on this one ... £500 is what everyone paid .... a LOT of money and for what ??? THIS is what everyone should be asking themselves instead of being fanboys or whatever to NOKIA ... give them a kick in the teeth and you might just get reaction...are we all being used like this as "testers" for feedback and free development by would be developers/users for there next creation for the N900 to be left on the shelf gathering dust.... no way NOKIA .... you lot need to look with your eyes open and stop talking out your backsides as if your married to NOKIA ... NOKIA have used a LOT of people here FREE !!! and ha they paid the price of £500 for the privledge. The feedback from the N900 is ENORMOUS for Nokia ... no company could be so damm lucky to get this amount of free knowledge to base there next so called flagship on. and what do we talk about... get an IPHONE or when is the next firmware going to be released... is it going to put right the huge amount of faults N900 has etc etc ... but of course we do have a 2010 ZX81 dont we ! blimy and costing £500. oh well.......

Open your eyes and see what has happened to date ! then you might just realise that people are getting VERY worried about this N900 and as the thread is named this could well be the end of a lot of users of Nokia mobiles as they may very well go buy another device other than Nokia... and what the heck is a "troll" when its about????

I have a heart !!! no way could i sell something with that many problems to put the burdon onto another ! maybe just maybe NOKIA might read this and do something about it cos at least that way we might just have a NOKIA mobile that actually does something in order to be called a FLAGSHIP . DO you give in that easy huh ?

He then claimed he was a mobile phone expert and knew everything there was about iPhones and nokias ... Long story short, I put the little twit back in his place and at the end of the argument there were 8 sales assistants standing around me. Moto of the story : If you are going to talk the talk, then please, walk the walk.

Now some of you will say what has this got to do with anything, and I agree, it hasn't, it just made me laugh and I wanted to share.

Peace.
It's got to do with someone who goes into a shop with the intent of provoking the salesmen there, which makes him a social ars*hat

ps: It's common knowledge that 90% of electronic sales staffs are there to do their job (sales) and make money off that... they're not gadget-head\techies like most forum readers here.

No I don't give in. Instead I do some research before paying £500 for any device

For me it does all I ask and more. Sure I have had my frustrations and hope some of these are solved with this release. But to expect that this or any future release will fundamentally change the device is just fooling yourself.
If you don't like it now you likely never will. I had to return to my N95 for two weeks whilst my N900 was being repaired. After that i wanted to burn my N95.
