Indeed it does! Thanks. I'll get that fixed tonight.

0.4.4-1 is in extras-devel to correct the UI issue, as well as a few other minor improvements.

0.4.4-1 has been promoted to Extras-testing. Please feel free to have a look at the Extra-testing QA, and if you think it's ready for the Extras repository, you can vote here:

this app is awesome. thank you much. i can def see this being the rss reader of the future.
i have a few qusetions.
if the app is closed will my feeds update?
if an article is un read and i have expiry at 24h will the unread items be removed ? (i would like them to stay)
also is it possible to instantly remove read items?

thanks for work. i can't wait for future updates that have been mentioned...

EDIT:
1 last thing would it possible to havw the date or time show on the title of the items when you viewing a feed?

Very cool app, I like the swipes to move to the next article although when scrolling and swiping left and right it has a tendency to highlight text along the way. The portrait mode also works great.

If it also updated and cached the images within the feed articles at the same time as the original feed update, I would replace the built in RSS reader. Great application.

If you close the app, the update will not happen.
Currently, articles expire after 24h, read or unread, and you can't remove read items manually, but that's a good idea.

I experimented with this a bit at the beginning, but it was taking too much screen space for information that wasn't all that useful to me.

@Laughing Man: You can reset the feed list by typing on the X-Terminal:
mv /home/user/.feedingit/feeds.pickle /home/user
Note that's case sensitive.
I'd be very interested in knowing what happened. If you could send me the feeds.pickle file, that'd be great, thanks.

Will do, just need to email it since I can't upload it to here. PM me with your email?

Oh import doesn't seem to work, I had exported the feeds as a backup precaution but feedingit won't import them back in.

Also using the feedhandler to subscribe to rss feeds from the maemo browser also doesn't seem to work. Feedingit will open and just sit there.

Thanks for adding the option to change font size among many other options... is it possible to give the same option to the content windows? I am not familiar with the dev environment and not sure what python provides so if that's limited by the tool then just ignore my suggestion.

For the UI improvement, I suggested earlier that the button-like UI looked messy. I have some ideas in mind but I am not sure if you would consider it too much effort/or python on maemo simply doesn't provide that possibility. I am thinking it would be cleaner to separate the article titles by thin line, basically making the UI like Modest. You then can have time info at the very right of the row, again like Modest. Do you think this is do-able?

Thanks again!

Great work. Thanks a lot for the effort.

Comparing to the Maemo RSS app, I like FeedingIt because it displays the list of articles so I can pick and choose which one to read. It also has the portrait mode, which can be useful in some circumstances.

As many others pointed out, it does not download images when updating the feeds. Seems like it only downloads the images when your are reading the article. This really makes it less appealing for off-line reading. I hope this would be addressed in the coming releases.
