Time to time most of my widgets disappear as well. No need to say how annoying is to insert all again. Any way to backup all widgets active and positions?
I know that inside "/home/user/.config/hildon-desktop" we have the some information about the active widgets but If I just backup this folder will do the trick? There is a sql file inside that is a notifications.db inside this folder as well, but I don't know what exactly how it works..

I find that when my widgets disappear and I add them back the device remembers where all the widgets were. I don't have to position them. I don't even have to go to the desktop which contained the widgets. I just go into edit mode on any desktop and keep selecting all the widgets and they all appear on the correct desktop in the exact position they were before they disappeared.

My variant of the bug is that after rebooting the device, only some very few (and always the same) widgets are present. This stared since 2 months ago, and now I know why. The reason is the currency desktop widget. I have de-installed it and now it seems to work ! All widget on the desktop (Facebook, Weather, Monitor, Mail, location, some Shortcuts, calender, y. notes, player, step counter) remain now after I restart.
It was the latest program I have installed and I'm pretty sure, that after I did this, the problem started.
I use PR1.2

Bare in mind that I have reflashed my phone with fresh pr1.2 firmware and maybe that makes the play button on the widget to work at all times.
