Ring T-Mobile, ask to speak to a supervisor, explain to them that msn gets blocked unless you upgrade to web n walk plus (mobile broadband plus), and that it SHOULD NOT do, there is nothing in their policy that states msn is blocked unless you upgrade, then you'll get web n walk plus for free and you'll be fine. Make it clear many other users have this problem, if you still don't get the point across, ask to speak to a team leader called Richard, he knows about the problem.
Some complementary information to hopefully help you with t-mobile customer service.
Now t-mobile do not supply the n900 (check their website) and so do not have any information on settings to help resolve the msn problem. I have checked on their website and all the smartphones they offer come with the unlimited internet booster (same as web n walk plus I think). Because the n900 has been obtained with a third party, you will only have the free flexible internet booster. But of course the n900 is a smartphone. Mentioned that n900 is using new linux software so no official clients, only opensource. As a compromise, they will hopefully upgrade you to web n walk plus for free as they can't help you with settings and it's a smartphone. Mention that you have searched various forums and this seems to solve the problem.
I did not need to speak to a teamleader but you may need to.
