btw : the included patch for Oddworld Abe's Oddysee works.
The graphic glitches are gone. ~ 30 fps

Ralley Cross 2 ~ 22 fps

Silent Hill ~21 fps with graphic glitches around the sprite and bad sound in cutscenes, but playable.

Only the damn self changing button mapping is a spoilsport.

ah okay, then I misunderstood you... I'm sorry!

OpenGL ES 1.1 (which is in fact already supported, only that some tests didn't pass with the older driver AFAIU) (and also which is for sure not the same OpenGL version as whatever the desktop version of PCSX uses)

Well, you know, Mhz is not everything.

Of course Mhz is not everything but in that case(Cortex VS P II) you missed the point with this statement. I don't believe that totally old pentium II architecture CPU has so much more IPS/hz than most modern ARM CPU's. According to wikipedia pentium pro cpu execues 2.705 IPS/Hz so @ 233 Mhz it has 630 MIPS. Cortex executes 2 IPS/Hz so @ 600 Mhz it's about 1200 MIPS... And we are talking only about raw power of cpu.

@zehjotkah

Hey, no problem

I saw that Cpasjuste has done a libsdl1.3 port for Pandora which should accelerate the X11 driver through gles textures, maybe that will give better results (if ported successfully)?

So what? MIPS is not everything either, you know. (For a start you're comparing a RISC processor with a CISC -- at least on the frontend -- one).

"IPS/Hz" is quite a weird way to say IPC, btw.

Not really accelerate, but more like slow it down Pumping pixels to the LCD is done much, much faster is the SGX is not in between.
(BTW interesting to know cpasjuste did the sdl 1.3 pandora video driver).

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=ips%2Fhz

I don't see anything wierd about it. And CISC is even more complex and demanding(thus slower) than RISC so once again - missed statement imo

" Results 1 - 10 of about 465 for "IPS/Hz"".
Virtually only Wikipedia uses it, and you're saying it's not "weird"? (While the much more common IPC is in the billions of results even if you combine it with less common keywords like CPU or processor).

And what CISC means for you is that single instructions are more complex, thus given same MIPS a CISC processor will perform better (ignoring a bunch of other factors like compiler effectiveness at using those, etc.).

If you want to keep this ongoing PM me.
