512MB was available more than a year ago, so it could (and should, considering the selected filesystem layout) have been used for the N900.

Agree. A bit off topic, but is example Snapdragon possible for Harmattan devices? I guess Samsungs "Hummingbird" 1GHz processor based on the 45nm ARM Cortex A8 would be possible.

I am sorry - there is the back button on this picture?

I have the same icons in browser window on bottom line in slightly different order -

Complex symbol for return to browser start page (it is next to right on this picture),
Plus sign,
URL field,
[sometime - red diagonal cross],
left arrow,
full screen icon.

the back button is the arrow i think
in current version of firmware it takes us to history but in upcoming firmware it will take us to last page we visited and swipe from left to right will be for history

if i understood correctly the left arrow will be a direct "back" in 1.2 (instead of taking you to browser history, which will now be accessed via the "swipe from right" gesture)

Possible as in ? The question is moot, though, as the (one, and almost certainly only) Harmattan device has been announced as an OMAP3. Also, Nokia has no Samsung or Qualcomm ties, their history and expertise runs with TI and (AFAIK) Freescale. Personally I don't see a reason to switch (neither Snapdragon nor Hummingbird will bring you any long (or arguably even short) term advantage over high-end OMAPs).

What makes you think N900 was "in the making" for less than a year?

I'm glad to see they're still at least making progress. I really hope to at least see full portrait mode, the Turn-by-Turn Ovi Maps update, and get the whole Ovi Store configured before they move onto the next device. I'm a new Nokia owner(this is my first Nokia device) and I came over from PalmOS and Android smartphones. These forums are extremely negative at times. I really wish people would stop complaining about "oh the processor is only 600 MHz, the Nexus One has the 1GHz Snapdragon, why does Nokia suck so much?" Or stuff like "OMG iPhone and Android get updates every six months but Nokia doesn't keep us with up-to-the-minute Tweets about every line of code they change." Stop playing into the numbers game, it means very little in real life use. The other platforms updates are usually extremely small(WOW! 1.6 has an onscreen keyboard like it should have had out of the box. OHH! 3.0 has Copy and Paste)

Honestly, you guys the phone is phenomenal and many are nitpicking at things that NO PHONE has 100% completed, I understand the frustrations but I believe its because the N900 is SO close to perfection. I was able to do more with this phone than I could with a year old Android OS. Those phones are all about Apps and the built in stuff is secondary(except the Google First-Party stuff, but those are only Google Experience stuff, so they really aren't built in). The phone has major upside, unfortunately the upside may not get tapped into because of the whole Meego thing, but the two phones can co-exist(the same way the N97 and N900 do now) because the openness and hardware of the phone allow it.

I'll stop complaining, but I am extremely happy to see that Maemo is THINKING when implementing things into these updates and making logical moves that make the experience much more thorough. NOW JUST GET US SOME MORE APPS AND UPDATE FLASH(too many sites are starting to make the change to 10+ now, so we need something).
