Maybe you should stick to out-of-the box software, as that seems to work best for you. You can find experimental software for any platform, be it Windows, Mac or Nokia Internet Tablet, and your lack of exposure to such software is not a reason to single out and criticise the Nokia Internet Tablet or it's developers.
May I suggest you try using the Search function to find the numerous threads discussing video conversion and playback (no flames, please).
BTW - this is the most dedicated forum around for Internet Tablets, but it's definately not "hard core" in any technical sense (it's more "end user" focused in my opinion). For hard core technical users, try #maemo on irc or the maemo users/developers newsgroups. By all means get into a p*ssing contest there - that would be truly amusing.

Piss off.
I don't have to take your crap. I have been over and over this with these bunch of whiners, you included about them being offended. I spoke my mind in what I saw was a group of snobs and elitists running around like code-warrior prima donna's. Some more than other. Only on guy in this forum I owe an apology to and I apologized other than that, you and the others get none. More than just a few here agree with what I have said about the Maemo Community and the way some things are run so maybe you need to go make suggestions at them as well. Start on post #2. So, if I have not made myself clear, go eff yourself and stop wasting my time. I did not pick this fight with you, you came knocking on my door and I don't have to take your crap and I won't.
Did I mention for you to go piss off.

You won me $50. My friend dared me to post it and that you wouldn't post it. I said you would. Thanks. Fine, ban me, buuuuuutttt you would have to start with yourself, and a few others that threw the first stones. As I made clear over and over, and over I have nothing against the developers, the whatever here. I posted my opinions that others here seem to agree with. The difference is that I didn't post their PM's. This is where you and I differ.

You get called out and you pass it off as a bet to make yourself look like less of an jerk? Classy.

Now, can you recommend a good movie converter for Mac so that I can put movies on my N800. I have tried different formats but they seem to either not have sound or video, or are screwed up. Or can you recommend a media player. I tried mplayer but it was not very stable and did not work well.
