What's really dumb here, regardless of the numbers, is that these news sites think the N900 is supposed to compete with the iPhone. It's not in the same class. It's like saying "The Lexus LFA sold nowhere near the numbers of the Honda Accord this year, clearly Toyota still can't compete with Honda."

i'd say roughly 700 000 based on this article:
http://www.mobilewhack.com/nokia-n97...units-already/

(It says 2 million in 3 months - so that could be around 700000 in the frist 5 weeks. it's hard to tell exactly.)

Do you know their actual target for sales of the n900 was?

Do you know how many Nokia phones in total sold in 5 weeks, vs Apple phones?

I might be interested in ... let's see ... how many times PR1.1 and PR1.2 have been downloaded.

Thank god for that. I love being different, and the fact that people don't realise just how good the N900 really is.

but if I am typical, I have downloaded everything about 50 times considering n810, n900, flashing and updates. which would sit right with the numbers.

Not true. I remember ten years ago everyone I knew had a nokia phone because they were the best AND they were offered by the carriers in large numbers. Now, if you go to a carrier's store, the only Nokias you see are the base models. I think Nokia needs to work with the carriers over here more. And, Nokia still has a great reputation over here.
