Great app man, appreciated. Would like to change the font sizes however, so a guide for modifying css please.
I will work on it but for now you can try changing the css files on /home/user/.mycontacts. The next version that is almost ready will allow you to reset them back to "default" if you mess up.

Mobile numbers in the UK tend to be in this format:

07xxx xxxxxx
or
+44 7xxx xxxxxx

ie. the 'area' code is 5 digits, starting 07, or drop the 0 and add +44 for the country code... followed by 6 digits.

Landline numbers tend to be a little less predictable. Normal landlines still tend to end with 6 digits, with the area code before that - though the area codes vary from 3 digits (eg. 020, or +44 20) up to 5 digitis (eg. 01702 or +44 1702)... area codes always start with a zero though, and it's never followed by a 7 (as that's for mobile numbers). Numbers that start 08 are also special, used for customer support, freephone, national rate and other purposes.

Hope that helps

I have just installed MyContacts for only "ringtones per group" but there is a huge, disgusting bug in it. If you dont add the desktop applet, ringtone function doesnt work. If you want to assign a ringtone per group / contact you have to use the applet. I hope they will fix it..

It is not actually a bug... It is how it was designed to work.

I wanted you to be able to decide when you the application is running or not. Also the original idea was the applet, the ringtone per group was a request that I thought would be a nice to have.

I have received other requests to make the ring tone per group more flexible and even disconnect it completely from the applet, when I change that I will make sure the application keeps running in the background.

For now you have to either have the applet on your desktop or leave the "MyContacts" application running for the application to intercept and process calls.

Sure I will play with it.

Another things I found (and was mentioned in an earlier comment, too) is that the applet is not loaded after reboot. What's worse in my case is that, the group info are gone after I manually enabled the applet. I didn't manually close the applet before rebooting but I'd think a system reboot should count as properly exiting the program? (I read that you're considering changing the behavior so the config is saved everytime the user changes something.) Is this an expected behavior, or is it a bug?

Not starting after the reboot automatically is by design. Not saving the groups is a bug... it will be fixed on the next release (hopefully today... )
