Another idea would be to add ability to import icon-themes.

1. Download an icon-theme-pack
2. Open Theme Customizer
3. Choose icon-theme-pack

Then Theme Customizer will untar it and place the folder in /usr/share/icons/.

The icon-theme-pack.tar.gz file must be packed correct to work.

Wouldn't it be easier for end user if icon theme creator's would pack them icons in deb and make the package depend on theme-customizer... that way icon themes could be easily installed via app manager.

Yes, it would.. but many potentially creators do not know how to make debs incl. me. But pack it as an tar.gz is not that hard. So i think it could potentially give more icon-theme-pack creators this way. The only problem would be to redistribute them.. there a deb would be a lot better.

There are a lot good looking icon-theme-packs on gnome-look.org and deviantart that are gpl'd. It would just need someone to download and rename them to fit Maemos folder structure. So pretty much any one could do it..

not sure if this a problem with theme customizer, but installed yesterday, all working fine.
manually copied, edited and copied back to usr/share/applications/hildon, a couple of .desktop files today, now the icons wont show up in any app menu, also apmefo can no longer read what apps are on the device either.
i only thought it could be a bug caused by theme ed cause its the only thing i installed recently that has anything to do with hildon desktop, can you advise how to rebuild my apps list or something, do u think its corrupted?

I promise to help you to pack it up as debian package when you have got the structure and icon sizes finished

I have problems with updating. Faster application Manager shows an update but while processing it there is an error. So I did apt-get install theme-customizer and it popped out that the package was not installed properly but it finished it. Of course after the update with FAppMan I've rebooted.

Next time copy and paste the app manager's (or fapman's) log here so I can see what the problem was.

Anyways, uploaded version 0.7 to devel two minutes ago with following changes:
- user can now make app shortcuts and web bookmarks larger than default values (30% larger)
- added about button to top menu

Next I will focus on translating the UI, big thanks to CepiPerez once again for helping me out with it
