same situation here , have followed instructions with reflashing the kernal with the flasher3.5 , including starting without battery while holding u then inserting battery , just getting the message suitable usb device not found, waiting appears to charge with wall charger and usb (led glows orange)handset vibrates occasionally but not being recognized by the pc . i dont have a SD to try the method detailed in post #30 of the Help - how to get U-boot command to boot original kernel (as now stucked at loading v44 power-kernel)? Can anyone advise how to fix without the SD ?I am using XP SP3 and never had f-camera or nitdroid on the device. This really sucks as i don't have another phone so if any one can help id be really grateful

Do not turn the phone on.
Is this true? i dont have a charger though.

This is what I observe: At first my phone had nothing going on, with nothing plugged in

then I plugged in the usb cable, the orange indicator light came up about 20 seconds afterwards.

the phone automatically booted about 20 seconds afterwards, the notorious penguin icon appeared, "starting kernel" message appeared

the screen stayed on for a few minutes, then disappeared, the indicator light also disappeared 20 seconds before.

any idea of what to do?

hello,
just installed v45 with rev 2101 mainboard.
Device is not booting up, sreen says reading boot.scr and goes off after a few sec. Looks like it's trying to boot from mmc1 (SD card) when i remove this, then it's booting fine, everything seems to work.

After testing i noticed that, when i press a key within 3 sec when it's booting and i type run noloboot then it's boots up wih mmc1 card inserted!

How to mange that the device is normally booting up???
So that i don't have to enter some text, or press a key?
If i want to boot another than MAEMO than that's OK, but i don't yet use that option...

thanks in advance

My device also has this non-booting problem. Judging from the successful reports of reflashing, it seems to me that the phone is not truly bricked or damaged, and the critical part is to get a fully-charged battery.
One very important thing is missing in the wiki entries: they don't say flashing is not possible if the battery drops below a certain level of charge.
I am going to buy a battery charger today. See if I can find a cheap one in the used phone shops. Anyway I will report back here.
