I'd really love a hardware way to make the top CPU/system hogs all get either renice'd and/or startup an xterm. I occasionally find that I have something going on and the system suddenly slams to a crawl because tracker, and/or some background script and/or some other thing all decide they want to run at the same time. I'd really like to be able to hit a button and nice/pause everything and then be able to manually restart the tasks when I'm done with whatever I'm doing.

And yes, I've configured tracker to only run when on mains, and the software updater to only run once a year, and, and.... But sometimes it just all decides it wants to all run at the same time regardless and the whole thing comes to a crawl. Usually when I'm doing something super critical, like driving when it's acting as my GPS, or when I start up the camera to take a picture...

That's a request for making a new application - not a CSSU feature.

MOAR DESKTOPS!

No, just no. You can use 9 desktops with CSSU and in my opinion vertical scrolling in landscape mode is not natural - you know any other phone which can do it?
EDIT: That idea was already posted somewhere in this thread: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=74980 and as far as i remember it was rejected.

1) orientation lock is available for landscape (horizontal ) mode only. I want it for both landscape and portrait mode. what if I want to use N900 in only portrait(vert) mode ? this orientation lock can save battery.

2) better ovi map voice navigation configuration.

3) some nice transition settings from cssu features configuration

4) some nice themes for conversations like shaded IM theme.

5) option to show/hide clock when phone is locked like in meego N9/950

6) turn on display light (in locked condition) when received a sms/mail/IM like in normal phones.

7) control media player when phone is locked to play/pause/next/previous/volume up/down etc. using volume key, camera key. when headset is connected/not connected.

If you found any helpfull Ideas in this don't forget to click on thank's

what should be there is preventing other applications messing up the transition file, for instance themes...

so whenever an application wants to change the transition file a warning should appear, and let you decide what to do...

that is because my cssu transition file got messed up this way and can't fix it.

The address book should be improved a lot:
-jump to letter (hate to slide out the keyboard for dialing a number)
-show numbers (or even more or other information) in the primary table
-secondary table should allow editing (so third table is not needed)

I'm sure that CSSU needs only modded original theme to work also in portrait.

Secure device screen:
  • Add clock
  • Add missed calls/messages notification
  • Remove useless and irritating 'Switch off device?'

...and no, this isn't covered by QtLockScreen (unless I've missed something)
