Also, some people reported (for other devices, tho) that Nokia refused to accept their warranties after they've flashed their devices by themselves...

That being said, I've flashed my N900 probably a hundred, and the N9 a good dozen times (including downgrades, using different product codes, complete refurbish with EMMC flashed as well, etc.) and not once have I bricked them unintentionally. The only device I've flashed and bricked in the process was my GF's old C7, but even then the boot loader or the rest of the hardware firmwares didn't get corrupted so a dead device reflash salvaged it quite easily. In the past 10 years, flashing and modifying all sorts of hardware, the only time I actually had to take the hardware to professional service was when I bircked my motherboard BIOS and the backup one refused to load - turned out that the backup EPROM chip was malfunctioning, had it worked correctly I would be able to salvage it by myself as well.

But yes, the risk is always there, and if you can't accept it - wait for the official update!
@NokiaASE said to me that I should expect it in the beginning of 2012. So I think I'll wait at least some weeks. Thanks!

There is a white N9 beside a pink N9 in the display at the Nokia store in Greenhills Shopping Center here in Manila, Philippines.

Is it readily available to other retailers/resellers/telcos etc?
Or is it only available in Nokia Stores? (there's prolly only a handful in the entire country)

It seems that the white's availability is being deliberately constrained.
That happened with the other models for at least 1mth when the N9 1st started shipping.
Particularly the black 64GB... It was put down to "ramp-up issues" (GTFO of here).

Availability is still fairly poor in Australia, especially the 64GB model.
It picked up for a while, but it seems to have dropped again quite a lot.
I suspect Nokia Australia will announce the L800 within the next mth.

Yay, here's a Central European version in the 'wild': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3ZkikqFtvw

If you freeze the video when he's pulling out the micro-SIM holder, you can clearly see that the product version is 059M8W9 which matches the RM-696 NDT CENTRAL EUROPE WHITE 64GB firmware.

Somebody from the Czech Republic to confirm its availability?

welectronics seems to have them now if you type in nokia n9 white into the search box. Listed for $775.

Or maybe this was there before and I missed it? Maybe it's a placeholder page for when they actually have them in stock?

Just joined white N9 club! So far so good - admiring the swift smoothness of the UI, but missing the "handheld computer" I found in N900!
