Wow, arrow keys keys now work in Messaging app while typing SMS! Of course a custom VKB with arrow keys is need too.
That's alone is enough reason to install Power Pack on my primary N9, I think. Still testing it on my secondary N9, though.

With a custom layout file, you can create virtual keyboard that has arrow keys, among other things. There have been many discussions here and many people have created different versions of VKBs with arrow keys. Here are some links:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=88453
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=79492
I have created some as well:
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...1&postcount=27
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...6&postcount=28
So you can use one of those or create/modify one by yourself. The layout files are just XML, so with a little study it is not difficult to tweak your own favorite VKB layout.

Most likely most of the problem comes when you incept your packages, since then there is system conflict with com-nokia.maemo vs com.nokia.maemo/local origins. Thats why openmode AEGIS_FIXED_ORIGIN=com.nokia.maemo works as it doesnt conflict the packages.
Ofcourse you can use that origin also in secure mode, as long as you _dont_ use the default inception to do it .
