This is really exciting stuff. Let's hope that Jolla can keep up the momentum with the updates. Even more important, they should avoid hiring Elop as the next CEO.

I wonder if the native tethering will solve the "battery drain after closing tethering app" issue many people have reported.

I have to agree with Tissot hereI fail to see why Nokia is relevant here. But at the same time I'm open for all opinions and posts.

If you were wondering what the girl says in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0UrUNIruGI
She's saying that the os is lovely, and she likes it very much, I just regret she doesn't know how to use and doesn't show all those small nice things it's got.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that mikecomputing is concerned that due to Nokia's name recognition and deep pockets it can more successfully mass market it's microdroid phone in regions where Jolla could have begun to established itself as an alternative to android and apple and hence taking away a significant portion of Jollas potential marketshare. Gee... I hope I'm not giving Nokia any ideas!

i saw
1. under settings->system->display there is an orientation option and it was set to Dynamic in the video
2. i also saw "Share Internet" under settings. probably tethering (hopefully there is bluetooth as well).
3. i saw when she scrolled up in the list of apps (icons), the screen dims out (she lifted her finger; so can't tell if it will dim out completely to lock or just dim to a certain degree). maybe it's visual indicator to tell you there are no more pages to scoll?
4. also, a screenshot from that page that shows camera with more options. it looks like they have implemented
- ISO levels
- show gridlines
- timer

i like the fading screen visual indicator when you reach the end of the list of apps. but can be confusing for first time user.

what i was hoping for really was grouping of app icons. can't wait to get this update anyway.

@droll
There is also a lock animation when the device is locked with up-down swipe gesture.

Ok, that makes more sense, if that was what Mike meant.
Even as you could see microdroid and Sailfish as some kind of competition now, I can't see operators needing to somehow select between the two. Especially here in Europe, where operators carry most of the phones out there.

While I can see Nokia X line destroying Jolla sales right away, that's not all a bad thing. More people hear and get used to the idea that you can have device that's not running Touchwiz or Vanilla, but still run Android apps, the better for Jolla.
UI of Sailfish is certainly way better looking than Nokia X UI. Though Jolla still needs to get way more exposure to get people accustomed to the basics of the UI. Many first time users struggle with the basic ideas.
