It's nice if it work for You - that's all that matter when DIY Alternatively, one can follow camera lens tutorial from post before Yours.

If i remember correctly, dr_frost_dk already measured that "1700 mAh" variant, and results were worse than for 1420 Scud. Sorry.

On side note, i just updated a tutorial (minor update) - marked mugen cover "legs" You need to cut off on picture, and added notice about isopropylene alcohol, that can be used to clear "glue mess" inside cover, after glue is cured where it's intended to be }

I also completed additional disclaimer after donation request - it wasn't saved yesterday, but I noticed it today

After seeing this thread I decided on ordering the Nokia BL-5J Battery from 'christgift' (EBAY) because I think it's the best in price/quality.

Thanks for your efforts ! It really helps us decide on what to buy!

Yes they are really cheap, and also since i modded them before very good quality + a very very cheap more capacity when made dual then very expensive mugen dual/xl battery...

Sorry ya, just want to ask a few questions before purchasing these batteries:

1. You recommend the aliexpress.com Battery from Lucia Lui: the Scud 1420mAh@1510mAh one right? Does it work straight from the box or must it be modded first? It fits straight onto the device right? Any cautions or warnings when using this other non-nokia battery?

2. so have you purchased the aliexpress.com battery from Lucia Lui many times before? How reliable are they?

I hope that I don't sound like I'm questioning your efforts. Cause, I just want to know a bit more before I order them. Thanks a lot ya for your patience

The scud battery is working just perfect for me out of the box .

Yes many advancements being made on both capacity and lifespan, the LiFe battery's that can be bought now has up to 5x lifetime over our Li-ion battery's.

But buy a Scud today and it will take you through the next 1-2 years and this is a long time (it will last longer but capacity will decrease).

The LiFe battery's i will buy next for my next EV project will last up to 10years.

I have just purchased a 3-pack of Scud batteries thanks to this thread

Thank you to everyone spending their own money for the good of the community!

No the mugen thing has been well discussed lately (last couple of pages), they have seen a sudden raise of selling covers only and i know they know about this thread.
But as stated before if they sold the XL-Battery + cover for max 50$ then there would almost not be any reason for this thread, well the modding part, the dual scud or japod & the other "winning" battery's still offers more then mugen when in dual config


EDIT: the question: Yes they have made steps to make i harder to buy the cover, and this is stated in post #2 under the mugen cover section.
