Talked to some people that work at the factory, said they are still in ramp-up (meaning not making at full speed yet, some people still in training etc). A very rough guesstimate (that could be way off) was something like 1000 units per shift (8 hour shifts) being built right now. I wonder what full capacity is. They said it was easier than E7 and N8 to build

EDIT: Added "that work" - I wasn't actually at the factory.

I think that might be true, a guy said that the devices are already here in Nokia Slovenia but they are waiting for Nokia to give them permission to sell.

I've heard, quite unofficially but close enough to official, that if we were to get the Mexico Nokia N9, we might have problems in the US and Canada markets getting support from Nokia USA/Canada because of it not being sold in those areas.

I'll update more in a bit - not liking this at all.

I'm pretty certain that's the case.

I remember there being no way for people to fix their fist gen N95 that got it from Europe as they could not wait for N95-3(or whatever the USA version was).

Exactly the same situation i had with Zune HD when i ordered it from USA. Thankfully nothing went wrong. N9 wont be sold in USA so they wont be putting effort to give support for it either, quite natural and i would not expect anything else.

I cant believe N9 doesnt support LTE... Or even just 21.whatever 3g speeds, like the sgs2. grr.
Even the N900 supports "21" it's just different way of measuring things, with and without the overhead. Nokia reports without the overhead, hence 10.2

Just for comparison, I purchased a Motorola F3 last time I was in Mexico. Something happened to it - got wet I believe - and I told Motorola the truth, that it was purchased while traveling.

Sent it in, per their request, they sent me a brand new one - it wasn't sold in the US to my knowledge. Not directly at least.

I'm not disputing what you're saying, but for a global company, that's some real backwards stuff.

Oh snap, it just hit me. Same Mexico connection(s) sent me a N8 for my mother, which she's enjoying. She's usually good at keeping her phones. Kept my old Nokia 8910 in good shape for years... me on the other hand? I need a warranty.

Though the difference there is that Motorola F3 is also sold in USA. They got personnel to do the work.
Nokia would need to send the N9 somewhere else or train people. That doesn't sound bad when it comes to one person, but when you agree to do it for one....

Qwazix:

So youre saying that the N9 which is marked at 3.5g speeds will be as fast as my SGS2 which is marked at H+ speeds?

200k is more than 92000 tho.

Dont know what kind of stores youre bumping in to, but here in norway its pretty well advertised and all stores Ive talked to are getting several calls every about when theyre expecting the N9 in stock, as well as the fact that Telenor sold out their first shipment pretty damn fast, with too few phones to even give out to the people who preordered.

So yeah, Im foreseeing a rather big sale in Norway at least.

HSPA+ is not LTE.
WP7 has no LTE support.

It's not going to be anyones first LTE phone.

It was sold in the US? I had not thought so, but I'll definitely take your word for it.

Thus my updated request in my Nokia N9 Community Purchase Plan thread... give us an international service center.
