I got the same error message during the initiate sync on MFE. The error message ""Communication error with exchange server" pop up after finish sync Email. However, it work after I disable the sync on calendar and contact. Now I can received email.
I will try to sync the calendar & contact again... weird

Does the PR1.1 update fix the issue with exchange certificates that have an empty CA field?

i.e. is there an option to ignore it and use the certificate anyway, as with other phones?

If not, are there any plans to address this in the future?

Both of these have been covered in this thread already, and neither of them are MfE issues. IIRC, the second one is in tinymail (which underlies Modest), and the first one is in Modest itself.

Check bugzilla and add/vote for the bugs for these.

Secure connection:
Either Exchange server requires secure connection or account is disabled
Unsecure connection:
Unsupported software version in Exchange Server

Yeah - a widget like we used to have it on Symbian devices would be so usefull!

Oh yes - I hate this also; no idea why they want us to click more then necessary...

The unread messages bug is https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6391 - this has been flagged as requiring a Brainstorm proposal though (and there doesn't appear to have been one created yet).

The delete message bug is https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5417 - this has been tagged as fixed in PR1.2

In future, please try using the "Power Search" function (from the toolbar on the right) first, rather than relying on others to do this for you.

Yay gmail works! had to disable the contacts because it caused an error after syncing(it wen through the sync ok but caused a problem in the end, and exiting mfe if it hasn't completely synced causes it to erase the setting, weird) anyway thanks for fixing this!
