i find myself wondering if there is some way to implement a text selection system where one can tap the start and end of the text one wants to select, rather then having to drag...

just noticed that after longtapping to open a link in another window, tapping anywhere on the original page will make the page jump in what appears to be an attempt to focus the tap on the origin of the menu.
this is similar to what i have seen after making use of in page drop down menus...
