Thank you for the good news but unfortunately I have to say that still we do not guarantee compatibility with google implementation of ActiveSync protocol.

Unfortunately no device logs. I've tried with another account. That account worked, for a while at least. After the first couple of syncs it's hanging again.

hope this can be looked at then for the coming updates.. Because thats one of the biggest selling points of android.. a co worker of mine will not buy the N900 because he uses google for many things and expects (and thats true) that an android phone has the best integration with it. And i dont think he is alone in that, seeing googles huge user base..

Personally i would like to see full multi calendar sync with google, gmail is not that high prio because there is no email client on the N900 that handles gmail style of email well (threaded view, archive button, global inbox, labels). I kind of accept that i did loose that forever by saying goodby to me E90 (the java mobile gmail app from google itself)

I still hope that somebody just makes a application for the N900 that just talks to google through the google api and updates the calendar on the N900, i guess thats really the only way to go...

Hello,

I have some success with Zimbra 6.0 with the new update. In the 1.0 firmware I never got past the initial sync. Now with the 1.1 update everything seems to work at first! Contact and Calendars no problems.

Having a strange problem with Email though, it seems to only download the subject line, not the rest of the message, but it also only happens "sometimes". Still haven't found a way to reproduce it 100%. Logs are uploaded here: Two sessions, first one didn't sync any email, second one did. Note that there are currently two emails in my inbox, one with full body and the other one that is empty (except the subject line).

I do run a Scalix Gropuware server, not a genuine Exchange server. My Nokia E71 MfE just works like a charm with it.

Not so the N900...
Ok here's my experiences after updating to PR1.1:

After updating I configured MfE and clicked on OK to start the first sync process. I decided to sync emails-only since I didn't want to mess up my contacts or calendar ;-)

Initializing server sync went ok and I caught myself staring at the email status bar for about 15 Minutes until all emails were pushed onto the phone. Sync showed status ok so after full-sync I closed MfE and openend Modest. What would you think? Not a single email there, all folders are empty!

Starting a manual sync afterwards will give me "Error in Exchange server" again. Bummer.

When trying to sync contacts & calendar the first sync also works flawless (and all entries are even shown in calendar or address book) but the 2nd sync will bring up the same o' error message...

Does MfE support wildcard certificates? I'm getting the "Either Exchange server requires secure connection or account is disabled" error when trying to sync using a wildcard certificate. I've set up a connection on a different port using an internally generated server certificate and that works fine (well, connects anyway, it's still not finishing synchronising but I need to dig into that a bit more).

Had that same phaenomenon as well. After deleting my MfE account and starting all-over from scratch I decided to only sync last weeks emails. Again the status bar showed everything ok and opening modest would now show "content" in my inbox.
But there's only the subject line. Below that line (where I'd guess the sender's address would be) it reads "Kein Empfänger" which would mean "No Recipient". Also the time-stamp of each email is the time last synced, so emails keep getting "newer" each sync ;-)
Ahh, and emails bodies are empty.

Right! This is exactly my problem! Are you using a standard Exchange server or something like Zimbra? Are all your emails empty or just some of them? Trying to find a pattern in my emails, but still haven't found it

I do use Scalix groupware.

I deleted my MfE account a couple of times since that issue, but as much as I remeber it was on every email.

I've got it synchronising now, but I'm not getting any calendar data synched. If I create a new calendar then it synchs fine, but it doesn't synch any upcoming data to the N900 calendar (if I increase the "back" period, it'll synch older entries). The N900 is still showing as synchronised via PC Suite - is this causing the problem (and if so, how do I reset this - I can't delete the entry from "Transfer & sync" in the settings)?
