@dr_frost_dk I have a question, I received the scud battery but with qbw
hal-device bme | awk '/g.c/ {curr = $3}; /g.la/ {last = $3} END {print curr"/"last" mAh"}'
I see 1116/1258mAh like the default one...why? I read the scud is 1400mAh

Being short since it is in Post #3 and "linked" to in Post #1

Q: my battery only shows 1222mAh not 1320mAh
A: This is not accurate because this is set by a resistor, this means you can make your battery report anything from 200mAh to >3000mAh, this has no relevance, my test is like i wrote in post #1, based on equipment to measure capacity.

EDIT: The Scud is 1510mAh like stated in Post #1.

sadly no, the only way to do it is to measure the battery and then figure out what the resistor should be and change it.

Then in 6 mounts time, do it again to accommodate for lost capacity due to "age" and wear.

The N900 actually has a chip that can do this capacity measurement and tracking, but it's unused, and the OS shuts down before 6% level at which the chip updates/"learns" battery capacity, so it's stuck at 2048mAh on most N900s.

a short heads-up for anybody interested in buying batteries via AliExpress.

In the near future, AliExpress will stop accepting paypal as payment method. If you do not trust AliExpress and their Escrow payment service a lot (like I do), better place your orders now
Soon you will need to give them your CC details (shudder)
