by the way, I got an email reply from Elop:
"Hello there,
We definitely intend to support our customers so that you can safely enjoy an N9.
And regarding WP, we have a great deal of flexibility in the changes that we can make; however, we believe a great deal of the success of the broader WP ecosystem will be in the consistency of both the end user and developer experience. Thus, we will be very thoughtful about the nature and degree of changes that we make.
Regards,
Stephen"
As bland as I expected, really.
this caught my eye
AM: Will Nokia be updating MeeGo future (N9)?
Nokia: Of course, updates to the N9 will at least 2015th Sincerely Daniel

I'm quite sure I'd be able to buy multiple N9's as soon as they're available here in Brazil.
Problems are:
1. It's going to be the most the most expensive N9 in the world.
2. Shipping costs to the US will be high and you'll probably going to have to pay some kind of import tax.
3. You won't get support from Nokia USA and Nokia Brasil won't ship it back to the US after a repair.
4. It seems that the first batch of N9's is not going to be available before the end of october (for those who somehow manage to unofficially pre-preorder their N9's now).
5. The first batch will only have the black 16 Gb N9, apparently.

Why do you think Best Buy would have them? I don't understand how you would even have the slightest idea that that would happen.

On the off chance that they saw some kind of demand for it, dunno.

I wonder if any of the other major networks are any different, probably not.
Just a correction, N9 HSDPA's max theoretical is 14Mbps.
And for SGSII, I think you mean HSPA+ (AFAIK there's no such thing as HSDPA+)
