Have you tried googles new free dns servers? 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4.

I had a similar issue and using those for wifi solved the issue. Apparently some providers are *really* slow when updating their dns-caches.

I need also update the N900 but still bit unsure... There seems to be two firmware releases 42-11 and 51-1 (not the 41-1) in http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N900.php. Should I then instal the 42-11 first before the 51-1 when updating the firmware? Or has the 51-1 already 42-11 included as the name combined in file name may suggest.

Just a quick update to this one: I tried rebooting the n900 a couple more times, and it eventually did resolve itself.

If you're reflashing then you just need the latest version. It's only the OTA updates which require going via 44.

Sorry, but tried reading 88 pages to no avail. Doing an upload is taking ages using wifi (use Virgin media and Googles DNS). Can I manually download the update and run it?

I've been trying to download the 90mb update for the last several hours but to no avail. I am using wifi OTA. It states that the update is downloading, the status bar fills up to the "Do" in "Downloading 90mb", and then just stops. I've tested the wifi using the web and it appears to be fine. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

Edit: And of course it works after I post this.

Web browser scrolling seems significantly improved
as does overall performance speed. Thumbs up!

On a side note, I'm really liking the virtual keyboard responsiveness especially compared to s60. I often find myself using it more than the hardware keyboard. I probably wouldn't have minded a lack of hardware keyboard if it meant a slimmer profile.

new? It's been 16 days. Do you really expect another one so soon?

I'd say, come back in March..
